It is not a Divination Method that belongs to any particular culture or religion.
Throwing Bones are a set of tools used to read fortunes. Usually consist of bones, shells, trinkets, and other miscellanies.
No set are alike, each Witch crafts and collects their “bones” based on their own throwing style.
I created this post because someone reached out to me on Pagans and Witches, an app for people that are Pagan and/or Witches. They asked for my advice saying they wanted to learn about Bone Throwing but their family and friends frowned upon it. Of course I advised to them not to discuss topics like this with them if they are not confortable with such topics. But when they askd for my advise I was not sure what Bone Throwing was, after doing my research I was even more intrigued to learn more about this topic.
So much that I crafted my very own Bone Throwing Kit!
After digging up my facts and info to learn more about Bone Throwing I kept coming across that Bone Throwing is not a HOT TOPIC of Divination or maybe a lot of people are just not aware of this technique like myself which lead me to create this post even more. Also Bone Throwing DOES NOT invovle HUMAN BONES just to clear that up.
Bone Throwing Rocks! Let’s learn to predict our Futures.
How does one use Bone throwing to predict their Future?! Lets find out.
Your Bone Throwing Kit can start out with 3 pieces, or even 5 pieces. After awhile you might be surprised with how much your Bone Throwing kit grows. You may end up with 20 pieces in your Kit. There are Witches that throw bones that have up to 100 items in there own Bone Throwing Kits! Dont worry about having that many items starting out. More than likely over time your own Kit will get to that point and if it does, Kudos! Thats Great! For now let focus on having 3 to 10 pieces.
Creating your own set should be FUN and INTUITIVE. You may discover all of your pieces quickly or it may take you a bit longer.
What items do you need??
First I do want to mention that if bones make you feel kind EWW! I have great news! A Bone Throwing Kit doesnt have to have bones. YES!
Your Kit can contain any items that call out to you. They can be buttons, a piece of wood, bottle caps, crystals, or shells, trinkets, keys, coins. When your not using your bone throwing kit it is best to have a pouch, bag, or box to keep your kit in so no pieces go missing. Pouches are real easy to make. To be honest I made a pouch for my Bone Throwing Kit out of a sock.
Let’s take a look at my very own Bone Throwing Kit, and since Im not squiemish about bones I do include them in my own Kit. Take a look…
Each of your items will represent something. You’ll want an item lager than the rest that will represent yourself. If you’d like you can refer back to the picture of my Bone Throwing kit.
Once you have your items for your kit for now you’ll want a Throwing Cloth. Your cloth will have 2 circles, an inner circle and an outter circle that surrounds the inner circle.
The inner circle represents what is directly involved with your question/s. When items fall in the inner circle they will tell you that they directly effect whats at question.
The outter circle are things that are indirectly involved but still effect whats at question.
And any items from your bone kit that land out side the outter circle dont factor in your question at hand.
After throwing your “Bones” and see where they land sit there and take it in. Dont over think it. Whats where? Quite your mind and let your intuition speak to you.
If you dont pick up on anything dont worry. Divination Practices take well, practice. Keep at it and you will start to tap into your wonderful Intuition.
